Last Harbor Guide
Last Harbor map — the San Juan Islands
Every island, biome and point of interest we have identified from the Last Harbor reveal trailer. Where to find fuel, food, weapons and safe harbors.
The Last Harbor map is a fictionalized version of the real San Juan Islands. It is an archipelago of about 30 islands, split into small fishing islets, mid-tier forested islands and large commercial islands. This guide catalogs every location we have spotted in official footage and breaks down the loot tier for each.
Map overview
The archipelago is roughly circular, with the largest commercial island at the center. The outer ring is small fishing islets — low-tier loot, low zombie density, and the safest place to start. The mid-ring is forested islands with lighthouses and small towns — medium loot, medium zombies, and the most common scavenging destination. The center is a commercial harbor with shipyards and machine shops — high-tier loot, dense zombies, and high PvP traffic.
Biome types
There are five biomes in Last Harbor: open water, kelp bed, sandy beach, pine forest, and commercial harbor. Each biome has its own resource profile. Open water yields fish. Kelp beds yield salvage and free hiding spots. Sandy beaches are the most common zombie landing zone. Pine forests are the safest scavenging interior. Commercial harbors are the only source of high-tier metal and electronics.
Points of interest
From the reveal trailer we have identified the following locations: a working lighthouse with a spiral staircase, an abandoned fishing village with a wooden pier, a dense conifer forest interior, a commercial harbor with sunken boats and shipping containers, and a small research station on one of the eastern islands. We expect more POIs to be confirmed closer to launch.
Safe harbors
On PvP servers, certain islands are designated as safe harbors — you cannot damage a boat that is anchored in a safe harbor. The standard safe harbors are the small fishing islets on the outer ring. They have minimal loot, but they are protected.
Navigation
Use the lighthouse at the center of the archipelago as your primary landmark. The current is clockwise, so a counter-clockwise route is faster. Watch the gulls — a flock of gulls over an island means there is a fresh kill there, and probably still something dangerous.
